Women of Excellence (WOE) 2023

AWiB holds its 10th annual Women of Excellence (WOE) Gala Dinner on October 29. This event gathers about 500 corporate business executives, influential community leaders, business women, entrepreneurs, and professionals to celebrate three Ethiopian women nominees’ accomplishments and contributions to their community. On this year’s celebration, an organization committed to the betterment of society will also be celebrated for its impact and excellence in the “Organizational Excellence” category.

Rekik Bekele

Born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I grew up in a household of seven children. With five brothers and only one sister, helping around the house with chores was primarily the responsibility of the girls.

Dr. Mulu Muleta

My journey began in the picturesque village of Abebe Buri, in the year 1961 GC. Born into a family of hardworking farmers, I graced this world as the eldest daughter of my three younger brothers.

Rahel Abayneh

I was born in Jimma in 1970 and relocated to Addis Ababa where I grew up. I have one brother & three sisters.

Women of Excellence (WOE)

Women of Excellence (WOE) is one of AWiB’s flagship events that started in 2012 with the aim of cultivating the culture of appreciation and documentation.

WOE Call for Interest!

AWiB plans to transfer the ownership of WOE to the private sector after its 10th anniversary. We are seeking event organizers with a proven track record and a well-established team to take over the project.
