Hinjat Shamil is currently the Senior Reform Advisor at the Ministry of Finance, where she plays a key role in spearheading several macro-fiscal reforms related to state-owned enterprises, pension funds, financial sectors, and debt management. She also oversees and the supports the preparation and implementation of the government’s consecutive Home-Grown Economic Reform packages.

Hinjat has previously worked with the United Nations and the GOE in the areas of  development finance, industrialization, and the sustainable development goals. Hinjat holds a Master of Public Policy in International Development from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelors degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University, which have equipped her with a strong foundation in economics and policy analysis. She also has international work experience the US, Afghanistan and Ethiopia.

Blen Hailu is the CEO and co-founder of KABBA TRANSPORT, a service that provides transportation and childcare for kids. She established the company to reduce parents’ transportation stress, ensure safety for students, and create a dynamic & innovative business platform with the potential to impact numerous lives positively. Prior to founding KABBA, Blen acquired over a decade of experience in the banking sector, where she honed her leadership and team-building skills while holding various management positions at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia for six years.

Blen holds a master’s degree in Development Economics and is committed to personal growth and self-reflection. She possesses a strong drive to maximize her potential and contribute to society in meaningful ways. Additionally, Blen is a devoted mother of two and benefits from a supportive family.

Through AWIB, Blen aspires to develop her strengths and work alongside other AWiB members to make a significant difference in society.
