How to Keep Your Romantic Relationship Alive

Human beings are social creatures.  We interact with each other spiritually, intellectually and physically.  Social life is one of our basic needs and a good romantic relationship is one of the pillars of fulfillment in life. Some assume that one needs to be lucky enough to find the right person and have a great relationship, but in reality, great relationships are results of hard work.

Romantic relationships progress and grow through time & hard work leading to increasing intimacy.  True intimacy takes time and work—those who feel that having sex brings them intimacy are only scratching the surface. A fulfilling relationship involves trusting each other with innermost emotions, desires & dreams.

A long time in a relationship does not necessarily show the quality of relationship. A romantic relationship is like a garden that needs continuous nurturing such as water, fertilizer, sunlight, weeding and protection. If a relationship is not nurtured it remains stagnant and the people in it are stuck showing no sign of growth and progress. Since no one is lovable all the time, one needs to have the drive to still commit to the person she/he is in a relationship with.  It requires wisdom to keeps our relationship alive.
