April 6 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Honest Communication
Honest Communication
Honest communication may include communicating the truth and straightforwardly giving complete information with the intent of being understood. Through practicing honest communication, we can show respect and create positive reputations for ourselves and our organizations. The most important thing to understand here is honesty starts with self. When we are honest with ourselves, we build trust in ourselves and others. When we are honest about our thoughts and feelings to ourselves, we build the foundation of trust within ourselves as well as others.
Clarity, consistency, and integrity are the building blocks of honest communication. When we are self-aware and conscious of the values within the message, we become clearer with our words and intent. Honest communication avoids unnecessary misunderstandings, surprises, and conflicts – it paves the way to collaboration and peaceful conflict resolution. It is an essential skill to develop on our journey of individual and collective growth.
