The Art of Networking Recap

The Art of Networking was facilitated on June 14, 2025 by Bethlehem Hailu, AWiB’s Membership Relations Manager. The session was truly engaging and included activities like icebreakers and speed dating.
The session emphasized that networking is not merely about meeting people but about building meaningful relationships that can open doors to new information, career or business advancement, mentorship, and personal growth.
There are four main types of networking: professional, social, strategic, and personal—each offering unique value and opportunities.
The concept of Six Degrees of Separation suggests that you are never more than six connections away from any person or opportunity in the world. This idea highlights the power and potential of networking—each person you meet could be a link to someone who can open a door, provide guidance, or create a new opportunity.
