Sisterhood Recap

In this roundtable discussion, AWiB members came together to reflect on a theme that is essential to women’s growth and collective strength: Sisterhood. “ members explored what sisterhood truly means—not just friendship, but a deep connection, loyalty, and shared commitment among women with common interests.
The session opened with an honest conversation about why sisterhood matters. Women thrive when they feel seen, heard, and surrounded by those who understand their journey. The facilitator talked about the components that make sisterhood meaningful: empathy, advocacy, collaboration, trust, joy, and giving love generously.
The discussion also touched on the challenges that sometimes hinder sisterhood. Barriers such as competition, comparison, or lack of trust can weaken our bonds. Together, women’s explored techniques to overcome these obstacles, including amplification, the circle of support method, reframing competition, and the 3 A’s of sisterhood.
The facilitator also presented scenario-based challenges that helped members think critically about how to respond with compassion and strength in real-life situations. One powerful moment came when members reflected on “my strength – your strength,” recognizing that each woman brings something unique. By supporting each other’s weaknesses, we build collective resilience and deepen our sense of unity.
