Connect To Home With AWiB Recap

On October 26, AWiB hosted its first ever webinar titled ‘Connect To Home With AWiB’, aimed at creating a connection between AWiB and the Ethiopian diaspora community.
AWiB is built on community. As an association with the mission to develop conscious leaders and create spaces for dialogue, this webinar reflected AWiB’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and connection.
The webinar opened with Nahu Senay Girma, the Founder and Director of AWiB, welcoming guests with a warm greeting and opening the floor for participants to introduce themselves.
The session began with a brief explanation of AWiB being a vanguard of peace. Bethlehem Hailu, Project Manager at AWiB, gave a brief introduction about AWiB: its 15 years of journey, initiatives such as May forum, Female CEO Breakfast Club(FCBC), Haset Women Leadership Program, and Meri Leadership Program. She then dived into AWiB’s treasure trove where she let the cat out of the bag about all the goodies AWiB offers for its members.
Lidya Yohannes, Membership Programs Manager at AWiB, gave a detailed guide to AWiB’s website and the intention behind every one of our content pillars, events. Participants were particularly fascinated by the ‘Announcement’ Category, where we publish news, offers, and sth from our members, partners, or the broader community.
Yodit Giday, an AWiBer for life, discussed her journey of returning to Ethiopia from the USA and how she was embraced and impacted by AWiB’s community.
As with every gathering, we came to ‘The Ask’, the reason we all gathered: to create a supportive, collaborative, and strong community that uplifts, impacts and connects.
We concluded the session by reflecting on AWiB as vanguard of peace: how AWiB brings ethics to the forefront of leadership, the kind that begins within.
With a call to action, supporting AWiB means investing in a community that strengthens society’s moral fabric by fostering thoughtful dialogue and empowering women to lead with courage, authenticity, and vision. But the true payoff is becoming an agent of change through AWiB.
