Meron leads and oversees survivor-centered GBV protection programs of UEWCA across several woredas in the Amhara Regional State. She is a legal and humanitarian professional, African feminist, and gender justice advocate with over seven years of progressive experience in Legal Professional, programme management, leadership, and advocacy for women’s rights and social justice.
Her professional background includes extensive service within the Ethiopian justice system as a public prosecutor and civil prosecutor, where she specialized in gender-based crimes. She has also served as Executive Director of the Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA), providing strategic leadership, strengthening governance, mobilizing resources, and advocating for women’s advancement in and through the media at national and international levels. Meron holds a Master’s degree in Gender Studies and an LLM in International Law from Ethiopian Civil Service University.
