Beredu is a human rights and gender equality advocate with over 15 years of experience in international development, & civil society, including advisory roles with United Nations agencies and leading global NGOs. She is a recognized expert in decent work, gender equality, and women’s empowerment, dedicating her career to advancing social justice and inclusive economic opportunities for women and marginalized groups around the world.
Beredu is the Founder of Sherises Charity Organisation, a grassroot nonprofit organization focused on empowering women and girls through education, economic opportunities, & leadership development. She also serves as a Board Member of Women Empowerment Action, a civil society organisation focused on gender transformation, livelihood resilience, and inclusive development.
In this role, she provides strategic guidance on program design, governance, and advocacy, working to dismantle systemic gender inequalities and strengthen community capacities for sustained social change. Beredu holds a Postgraduate degree in Masters of Development Management.
