Samrawit is specializing in Mechanization and Post-harvest processes. Samrawit is making significant contributions to the field of agriculture as a researcher at the Melkassa Agricultural Research Center (MARC) of the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). Her work involves proposal development, data collection, analysis, research, and training in agricultural technology practices, post-harvest management, and value addition.
Samrawit has also played a key role in incubating small businesses focused on agricultural processing technology and practices. Samrawit is a member of the Proposal Evaluation Committee (PEC) representing EIAR, where she assesses innovators in agricultural mechanization for smallholders’ grant funding under The AMS Project.
She holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Adama Science and Technology University and an MSc in Post-harvest Engineering and Management from Bahir Dar University.
Her interests extend beyond her professional work to promoting, consulting and providing training on agricultural technology and practices, promoting gender issues, community involvement, reading, writing, and content creation
