Mekdes is a program coordinator at the Development Expertise Center (DEC) also providing training and facilitation. She has over 9 years of experience as a Project officer, project and program coordinator. She delivers training on life skills, leadership skills, Advocacy (Mobilizing support) and Gender.

Coaching of youth is one of the activities that she utilizes to give back to the community. Mekdes has strong communication, problem-solving, organizing, coaching and mentoring skills.

Mekdes holds an MA in Project management from Lead Star University, (Ethiopia) and a BA in Sociology from Gondar University. She took short-term training on Advocacy, Life skills, result-based management, safeguarding and prevention of sexual harassment (SA).
