  • Innovation towards a Sustainable Environment

Innovation for a sustainable environment is a core focus of AWiB's 2024 theme, "Resilience for Safety and Sustainability," recognizing that a sustainable environment is vital for our future survival. The recent devastating landslide in the Gamo Gofa region, which claimed the lives of around 229 individuals, underscores the urgent need for environmental concern. Gofa, located in Southern Ethiopia, has been severely impacted by heavy rains and flooding, with past incidents dating back years.
