The Poet in YOU

Have you ever felt a line of words rise inside you unpolished, but alive, only to let it slip away? That’s the poet in you, whispering truths your everyday in a way that moves something deep within you. If those words were captured, written and shared with others it will move others in depth and create connections that we crave. Most of us carry a poet in us. It lives in the way we notice the rain against our window, in the ache we feel when a song reminds us of a forgotten moment, in the way we read between the lines of someone’s silence.

The poet in you is not about rhyme or grand metaphors, it’s about the courage to see, feel, and translate life into words that breathe.

Outcome

Upon completion of this workshop, you will:

• Learn about how to listen to and encourage the poet in you to freely express
• Reflect on what holds us back from putting our pen and paper together when we feel the urge to
• Learn how to begin or continue to practice to use poetry as a tool for self-expression
