The Concepts of Feminism

YOU CAN ALSO RSVP BY TEXTING YOUR FULL NAME AND “Feminism” TO +251947350259.

Feminism is both the belief and practice of equality between women and men. The practice of feminism starts with an awareness of the ways in which society is deeply gendered, starting from the use of language and social norms to the skewed values placed on women’s and men’s actions and the discrimination & violence faced by women all over Ethiopia.

Upon completion of this seminar, you will:

Recognize the true concept of feminism
Understand what femininity, masculinity, and healthy relationships are and how our self-esteem is affected by these
Gain awareness of gender norms that affect us all & practical ways we can adapt to make subtle changes that enhance gender equality

This seminar will be facilitated by Ruth Mekach, a law professional & researcher working as a Project Coordinator at Dereja.
