The Art of Storytelling
“The stories we tell literally make the world. If you want to change the world, you need to change your story. This truth applies both to individuals and institutions.” –Michael Margolis
Whatever you are set out to do – starting or growing your business, NGO, grow in whatever professional career path you are on, improve your relationships or make more friends, know that storytelling is a tool that comes handy whenever you’re speaking of things close to your hearts’ desire. Stories are the bridges between our inner world and our listener’s inner world. Through storytelling, we understand ourselves and those we interact with better.
Storytelling may sound like it’s a complex process, but it is actually the simplest way to make real connections, communicate visions and igniting change. It is one of the most organic, oldest forms of communication that even pre-dates writing. Storytelling structures and organizes our thoughts and how we view ourselves as well as others. It improves our communication & social skills. Making friends and expanding our networks becomes more natural to us, and this opens the gate for us to transfer our message and create an impact.
