Stress Management
Stress is a normal human reaction that occurs in everyone from time to time. It is the physical, emotional and intellectual response to different changes or challenges. When a person has long-term (chronic) stress, continued activation of the stress response causes wear and tear on the body. Physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms develop.
How someone feels stress is subjective, only the person experiencing it can truly describe how intense it feels. While there is no single test that captures someone’s full stress level, healthcare providers may use questionnaires, observations, and sometimes physical indicators (like changes in sleep, heart rate, or hormones) to understand how the body is responding. Some people don’t recognize they’re under stress until physical symptoms or illness make them slow down and notice the pressure, strain, or discomfort they’ve been carrying.
Outcome
Upon the completion of this workshop, you will:
- Understand what stress is and the possible sources of stress
- Learn how to recognize stress when it occurs
- Explore stillness techniques to practice and better deal with stress. Some of these techniques are like breathing, meditation and mind management practices
