“Balancing professional and personal life” would be the sense of the topic and Selome will share her experience throughout her long and successful professional life and adding to that a family. We feel we have challenges to create a platform that would help us develop our professional life.

Who better to lead courageous dialogues to inspire resilient women than Selome Tadesse!

Selome is one of the phenomenal women who served in many positions, including as the general manager of Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency (ERTA) for four years. After leaving ERTA, she worked for WHO, ECA, and the British Council. Her recent venture is establishing ‘Emerge Consultancy and Training’ that deals on the area of leadership and communication trainings and research which is also her passion.

Selome is no stranger to us. She has served her country and her community through different capacity. Visible and sustainable projects are under her belt. Her major legacy to the Ethiopian Women is founding Network of Ethiopian Women Association (NEWA). And founder of Raya brewery? What’s that all about Selome?

One of the formidable leaders of our community, we pose to Selome the questions: why aren’t so many of us (women) at the top? Why can’t women support each other for a common good and give credit to each other? Why can’t we be each other’s sponsors to moving up the ladder?

Selome is original, genuine and courageous. There is a great deal to learn from this dynamic and fluid woman. She is articulate, mesmerizing and knows her stuff. And she is AWiB’s member. We invite you all to participate and dialogue your professional and personal life. After all professional is personal.
