Time Management Recap

This weekend’s Time Management workshop offered members a meaningful opportunity to pause and reflect on one of the most valuable resources we have: time. Facilitated by Nahu S. Girma, Founder & Director of AWiB, the session explored how managing our time well can transform not just our productivity—but our entire quality of life.

the session began with grounding questions like “What is your purpose in life?” and “What controls your time?” These questions helped members look at whether their daily habits align with their goals, values, and personal direction. The session emphasized that time management isn’t just a set of techniques—it’s a mindset rooted in clarity, priorities, and self-awareness.

Members completed a personal needs assessment, scoring themselves on patterns such as social interaction, acceptance, perfectionism, and risk avoidance. This exercise provided insight into why each person manages time the way they do. And also explored different time management personality types, helping everyone recognize their strengths and challenges.

The workshop then introduced practical tools, including SMART goals and keeping a time log, both designed to help track where time goes and redirect energy toward meaningful activities. Participants gained a fuller understanding of how emotional habits, boundaries, and self-reflection directly impact their ability to use time wisely.

Key Takeaways:
  • Time management begins with purpose—knowing what truly matters.
  • Self-assessment reveals the patterns that shape how we use time.
  • SMART goals and time logs help bring structure and clarity.
  • Effective time management blends mindset, awareness, and practical tools.
