Setting Boundaries
Setting boundaries is a fundamental aspect of self-care, healthy relationships, effective communication and personal empowerment. Do you ever find yourself struggling to tell a close friend not to distract you while you are at work? Have you ever joined an activity just because you couldn’t say “No” to that one good friend of yours? If so, you it is a sign that you struggle in setting clear boundaries. The real question here is “Why” and only you can find the answer to that.
Boundaries serve us as guidelines that define the limits of acceptable behaviors, responsibilities, and expectations in our various interactions and relationships. By establishing clear and consistent boundaries, we can have respectful interactions and empower ourselves to prioritize our needs and values.
Outcome
Upon completion of this Round Table Discussion (RTD), you will:
- Gain a clear understanding of what boundaries are and why they are important.
- Reflect on our own personal limits when it comes to setting boundaries
- Get tools and practices on how to communicate boundaries effectively and assertively.
- Understand the role of boundaries in maintaining healthy and mutually respectful relationships.
