Tools for Dealing with Loss

Tools for Dealing with Loss
Loss comes to us in different forms: death of a parents, a child, or other family members, loss of a friend, a broken marriage, loss of business, loss of home, miscarriages, still born, and so on. Whatever type of loss you’ve suffered, there’s no right or wrong way to grieve; there is not a typical response to loss as there is no typical loss. But by understanding the stages and types of grief, we are able to find healthier ways to cope with it.
Instead of a series of stages, we may also think of the grieving process as a roller coaster, full of ups and downs, highs and lows. Like many roller coasters, the ride tends to be rougher in the beginning, the lows may be deeper and longer. Loss is an inevitable part of life, hence understanding certain steps & approaches to heal is useful.
