Introduction to Recovery
Addiction is any compulsive behavior that takes control over your life. Whether it’s alcohol, smoking, food, screens, gambling, or even relationships and certain emotions, addiction can quietly weave itself into your daily routine, making you feel powerless. In our culture, addiction is still seen as a sign of weakness or failure, which only deepens the shame and silence around it. But the truth is, addiction is a condition—one that touches your physical health, clouds your mind, strains your spirit, and empties your bank account.
If you’ve ever felt trapped in a cycle of craving and regret or you have a loved one who feels that, you’re not alone. The pain is real, but so is the possibility of healing & support. Recovery doesn’t mean pretending the struggle never happened. It means reclaiming your life, step by step, with courage and support. It means learning to trust yourself again, finding meaning, and reconnecting with what matters most.
Outcome
Upon completion of this seminar, you will:
- Understand the nature of addiction and the factors that contribute to it
- Reflect on your or your loved one’s addictive behaviors and their implications
- Discover if you are addicted to or have addictive tendencies to some things
- Learn about go-to places that will support your recovery journey
