The Leader in Me
When I first stepped into a leadership role, I heard about the Haset Women Leadership Program. I was truly excited to be selected and to get this special opportunity. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I felt it would be something that could help me grow both personally and professionally. Our sessions began by reflecting on the past, the present, and the future. It was a simple exercise, but it helped me see how far I’ve come, where I am now, and the kind of leader I hope to become. That reflection became the starting point for real change in me.
Before Haset, I used to think leadership was mainly about giving direction, managing tasks, and making sure things got done. But the program showed me that true leadership begins from within. It’s about understanding yourself, managing your emotions, and leading others with empathy and purpose. Through Haset, I found confidence I didn’t know I had. I used to get nervous speaking in front of people or leading big discussions. But the Haset Club sessions we practiced each month, taking turns as MC, delivering prepared speeches, doing impromptu speaking, and giving feedback helped me grow step by step and improve my public speaking.
One of the other powerful lessons for me was mindful listening, being fully present when someone speaks. It helped me slow down, pay attention, and truly hear people. It has made me more patient, understanding, and aware of others’ feelings and perspectives. I also experienced yoga for the first time during our wellness session. It helped me relax, breathe, and connect with myself in a new way. It reminded me that taking care of myself is part of being a strong and balanced leader.
Another highlight was listening to the women guest speakers. Their stories were honest and motivating. Hearing how they handled challenges, balanced work and family, and stayed strong through difficult times inspired me deeply. The Haset Circle became a space where we supported one another like sisters. We shared real experiences, encouraged each other, and created a safe space to grow. I realized that I am not alone in the challenges I face as a woman, both in my personal and professional life.
This journey has changed me. I am more intentional, calmer in challenges, and more patient with myself and others. I’ve learned to listen more, communicate better, and lead with heart. I now believe that every woman carries the power to lead in her work, in her home, and in her community. Haset helped me see the leader within me, and for that, I am truly grateful.
