Betelhem Girma currently serves as a Programme Officer in Irish Aid. Her career spans various thematic areas, including development, human rights, peace and reconciliation, and women’s participation in politics. She has collaborated with both international and local organizations, demonstrating her expertise and commitment to these causes.
In addition to her governance work, Betelhem served as an Emergency Project Officer in the non-governmental sector for three years. During this time, she participated in over 10 short-term emergency relief operations, providing vital aid to conflict-affected communities across Ethiopia. Her long-term vision is to establish a think tank focused on innovative and indigenous approaches to promote peace and prosperity in Ethiopia. Through her work, Betelhem aspires to contribute to the nation’s development.
Betelhem holds two Master’s degrees: one in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from the Kalu Institute, and another in Project Planning and Management from YOM Institute.
