The Effect of Childhood Trauma

Childhood trauma is an experience of an event by a child that is emotionally painful or distressful. Childhood trauma is manifested in physical, emotional, spiritual, and social relationships. Trauma may occur when a child witnesses or experiences overwhelming negative events, such as accidents, manmade & natural disasters, or the sudden loss of a parent/caregiver through death, divorce, separation, or imprisonment.
