Abigeya Getachew Wolde

I am fascinated with the interrelation of law with economics, politics and society that creates effective and efficient policies, laws and institutional systems. I develop and use my skills in legal and policy analysis, leadership, knowledge-sharing and strategic planning as well as engagement to see an Africa fit for its children, women, youth and the elderly.
I work as a reform coordinator and assistant to the Chief Justice at the Office of the Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia. I coordinate the reform initiatives of the Chief Justice and am the focal person for the Chief Justice’s strategic partnership with foreign governments, international organizations and development partners.
Prior to joining the Supreme Court, I worked with international organizations, development agencies, national NGOs, academic institutions as a lecturer, the private sector, government and the African Union Commission. I am also an affiliate expert of Oslo Analytica and OnFrontiers LLC.
My aspiration is to be legal and policy advisor that works for the benefit of the African continent. I indulge in celebrating my femininity, fellow human beings, nature and the Master behind it. Hiking, traveling, books, talks, music, art and photography are among the many goods I cherish as ‘Life’s full-time student’.
I hold an LLM (Master of Laws) from Central European University-CEU and an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from Addis Ababa University.
